Union Pines sees streak snapped The Union Pines girls team saw its four-game winning streak come to an end last week. After winning at Douglas Byrd, 65-30 and beating Gray’s Creek in overtime, 48-45, the Vikings came back from South Johnston with a 48-31 defeat and a 4-4 record on the year. Sophomore Savannah McCaskill had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds against Byrd. Junior Taryn Pekala (13 points) and junior Sashay Thompson (10) were also in double figures.
