The Fall season of high school sports is coming to an end and as postseason play starts with the NCHSAA playoffs Moore County 3 schools have had a fair share of postseason play. In volleyball, all three public schools in Moore County made the playoffs. North Moore lost in the 2nd round of the state playoffs to Cape Hatteras in three sets. SOUTHERN PINES — In addition to his duties as athletic director, Jeff Hewitt is also the baseball coach at Pinecrest High School. As such, he knows a heavy hitter when he sees one. Poole provides big freshman impact

Former Randleman standout Dominick Poole has been racking up honors after his freshman season with The Citadel football team. Poole, a defensive back, has received recognition on the Southern Conference and national levels. Poole was named Freshman of the Year in the Southern Conference by the Southern Conference Sports Media Association. Poole became The Citadel’s first media Freshman of the Year since 1982.
