TRINITY — Wheatmore advanced in the Class 2-A dual team state playoffs for girls' tennis by edging visiting Reidsville 5-4 in a first-round match that was contested across two days, concluding Thursday. The Warriors won two of three doubles matches. Kara Comer (No. 1 singles), and Mikalah Walls (No. 5) and Carmen Turgeon (No. 6) were winners in singles and doubles for Wheatmore. The seventh-seeded Warriors (12-2-1) head to second-seeded Hendersonville (14-0) for the West Region’s second-round match Tuesday.
