Woman killed in Robbins mobile home shooting

Sheriff Ronnie Fields announces an investigation following a shooting death in the Robbins area of Moore County.

On September 3, 2022, at approximately 10:00 pm, Moore County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of someone going door to door in the area of Sunset mobile home park in Robbins, North Carolina. Prior to arriving, deputies received a second report of a disturbance and gunshots fired in the same area.

Deputies arrived at the 100 block of Sunset Place in Robbins, North Carolina, to find 23-year-old Laura Hernandez, also from Robbins, deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. Hernandez had been shot by a resident of Sunset mobile home park after she had been involved in a physical altercation with another resident.  All parties involved in the altercation are cooperating with sheriff’s investigators at this time.

Investigators are working to identify the circumstances and events leading up to the shootings.
