The Fall season of high school sports is coming to an end and as postseason play starts with the NCHSAA playoffs Moore County 3 schools have had a fair share of postseason play. In volleyball, all three public schools in Moore County made the playoffs. North Moore lost in the 2nd round of the state playoffs to Cape Hatteras in three sets. ABERDEEN — The Town of Aberdeen Board met Monday, October 24, where they held two public hearings for text amendments and received updates on various town projects. NC Treasurer announces largest one-time supplemental bonus for state retirees

RALEIGH — N.C. State Treasurer Dale Folwell announced the largest one-time supplemental bonus for state retirees of an additional four percent in this month’s payment. The bonus will go to benefit recipients of the Teachers’ and State Employees’ Retirement System (TSRS), Consolidated Judicial Retirement System (CJRS), Legislative Retirement System (LRS) and the Local and Governmental Employees’ Retirement System (LGERS). “The TSERS, CJRS and LRS payments were appropriated by the General Assembly and signed by Gov. RALEIGH — Multiple videos posted by the Instagram account “Cantfinddisacc” show nearly a dozen fights recorded by students at Crain’s Creek Middle School in Moore County. The videos surfaced in September and early October and the account now appears to have been deleted. On Thursday the NCHSAA released the brackets for the playoffs, and here is where Moore County teams stand for when the playoff starts on Saturday, October 22. The Carthage Century Committee recently received a $25,000 Hometown Revitalization Grant from the Duke Energy Foundation to support small businesses in downtown Carthage.
